     We teach people who are looking to improve themselves.  Mom's, Dad's, Sons, Daughters, High school and College  students from NOVA CC and George Mason University, active and retired Law Enforcement officers, members of the military, IT professionals, Lawyers,  Mechanics, Accountants, Servers, Retail clerks, Diplomats and everyone inbetween 15 to 60.   Our members battle 66, 28 and 50 for our unique training because it's the BEST!  This is not a knuckle head gym, and it's not a new trendy hot spot, it's something that brings out the best.  Hailing from Fairfax, South Riding, Herndon, Chantilly, Falls Church, Centreville, Manassas, Dulles, Sterling, and Gainsville because they know our unique approach to training works!  Some of our members have plans of competing in Boxing, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and MMA events, others just want to feel safe wherever they go while others, just want to challenge themselves, and get in better shape.   Our members are taught how to troubleshoot their problems in and out of the gym, that stress and challenges are good for you and that what used to seem impossible will just take some effort, some sweat, and some persistence.  In short, Relentless MMA beckons anyone who has a interest in being a better person.

STRIKING

 

MUAY THAI​​​​​​​​​​​ kickboxing


     Muay Thai (Thai Boxing or Thai Kickboxing) is known as the Art of Eight Limbs, referring to the human body’s natural weapons: 2 fists, 2 feet, 2 elbows, and 2 knees. The exact origins of this martial art have been lost to antiquity, but it is known to trace to its militaristic beginnings when Siamese soldiers used unarmed fighting techniques to compliment their traditional weapons of the bow, the spear, the staff, and the sword.

     Muay Thai is recognized as one of the most efficient and effective martial arts in existence, and is by far the most popular choice for a style of striking amongst Mixed Martial Arts practitioners. Muay Thai is also world renowned for its rigorous training regimen, as Muay Thai fighters are recognized as some of the best conditioned athletes in the world.

sAVATE tHAI cROSS tRAINING

     

     Savate Thai Cross training takes the Techniques of Traditional Muay Thai kickboxing and mixes them with the techniques of a French style of kickboxing called Savate that has all of the same punches as western boxing and allows kicks with reinforced shoes.  The combination of techniques gives the students more combinations for attack and defense and helps them understand how to kick with a shoe weather it be for sport or self defense.

MMA BOXING

    

     This class focuses on all of the moves, techniques, and tactics of traditional western boxing but also adds in Takedown/Tackle/Throw defense that is applicable in MMA fights and for self defense to make it more practical and well rounded.  We also go over what to do if you are taken down and how to get back to your feet as quickly possible.  The goal is to teach people how to punch and stand as long as they want.

GRAPPLING

 

BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU

     Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, developed by the Gracie family and made famous in events like the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), is one of the most respected and effective martial arts in the world today.

     Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is not based on strength or athleticism; its effectiveness comes from the use of an opponent’s strength, force, and aggression against themselves. The student learns how to use leverage and body positioning to defend themselves in virtually any close-quarters confrontation. Since most real-world confrontations end up on the ground, Jiu-Jitsu concentrates on ground grappling, and the application of chokes, joint locks, pins, and escapes with the most effective leverage-based techniques possible. Its real-world effectiveness has led to its acceptance and implementation by all branches of the U.S. Military, as well as most local and national law enforcement agencies. Through BJJ training, higher levels of fitness, mental focus, and self-confidence can be achieved.

     Erik Paulson’s Combat Submission Wrestling program is the most complete Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) training system available.  In this program, you will be trained extensively in all ranges including striking, takedowns, submission wrestling and submission fighting. The environment of the CSW class is highly energetic with technique and safety being paramount. SELF DEFENSE

 

contemporary JEET KUNE DO /

JUN FAN GUNG FU

 

     With Wing Chun at the core of his system, Bruce Lee incorporated a modification of various techniques from Northern Praying Mantis, Southern Praying Mantis, Choy Li Fut, Eagle Claw, Western Boxing, Wrestling, Fencing, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, and some of the more refined kicks of the Northern & Southern Chinese styles. Innovative and radically ahead of his time in his training and teaching methodology, Bruce Lee developed a martial system and fighting strategy that has lost none of its effectiveness over time.

 

     Emphasizing the “ranges of combat”. Students are taught to confidently and with ease “flow” from long distance, ”kicking- range”, to middle distance, “hand- range”, to close quarter, “trapping & grappling range”.

     The movements are crisp, and efficient, utilizing the most direct lines and angles. JKD affords the practitioner a means by which to effectively pursue the most direct line of attack. And once an attack has been launched there are no breaks or interruptions. As one technique nears completion, it starts to blend into the next and so forth: one continuous flowing motion until the conflict is resolved.

    The Jeet Kune Do classes are devoted entirely to teaching and preserving the arts & philosophies of the late Bruce Lee.  Students are able to enhance their natural attributes, such as coordination, timing, speed, endurance, strength and agility, using the innovative teaching and training methods developed by Bruce Lee, and preserved and taught to today by his protégé, student and training partner, Dan Inosanto and enhanced through modern coaching methods by Sifu Harinder Singh Sabharwal of the Jeet Kune Do Athletic Association.

FILIPINO MARTIAL ARTS

(KALI/ARNIS/ESCRIMA)

     The highly sophisticated and comprehensive martial art from the Philippines is weapon based, but ultimately an empty hand system.  The Filipino martial arts encompasses program that introduces students to 12 main areas, including, but not limited to single stick, double stick, stick & dagger, double dagger, panatukan (Filipino boxing), Sikaran (Filipino kicking methods), Kuntao & Silat.

        In the US as long ago as the 1500′s, the Filipino Martial Arts have something to benefit everyone. Developed for “mass attack” as well as single opponent confrontations, the training heightens student’s awareness of their surroundings and teaches them to use their environment as tools of combat. Everyday objects, such as umbrellas, books, bandannas, etc., become effective means of self-defense in the hands of a properly trained individual. Use of left and right hand techniques develop coordination. Drills and techniques taught in a fluid, non-restrictive manner allow students to enhance their natural attributes and improve their sense of timing, speed, awareness, balance, agility, and confidence.

KNOCKOUT BOOT CAMP

 

    Our Boot camp program is designed to Burn Fat, Build Muscle, Endurance, Coordination and Agility.  We mix movements and exercises from several martial arts mixed with Resistance Band, Kettel Bell, Suspension Trainer, Dumbbell, Medicine Ball, Agility ladder and Bodyweight exercises to constantly challenge and change the body for the better.

Dave Carter, where should I begin to describe him. It is very difficult to describe how amazing this man is both as a coach and a friend. I have trained both in USA and internationally but I have never met or trained with anyone like Dave. His style of training is truly unique and amazing.

He has taught me to become a very good competitive fighter . I have trained with Dave and the technique he has provided me is just phenomenal. Dave's training has taken my fighting (Muay Thai) into higher level, in fact, it has sky rocketed.

His techniques are very unique and very very very effective in fights. I, myself, have used it in many of my fights and it is very effective. I am emphasizing the word UNIQUE a lot, that's because only one thing comes in my mind when I hear Dave's name "his unique style of training fighters".

Dave Carter is BAD ASS!

Now that I got that out of the way, I'll explain why it's a fact...

I'm an IT consultant who travels often for work. Since 2005 I've taken Muay Thai at 3 different schools to date. I met Dave when I began training Muay Thai at Team Lloyd Irvin Martial Arts in Arlington, VA in early 2006 and was immediately convinced he was the trainer I've been searching for all this time.

My Muay Thai and conditioning has improved immensely after just a few short months of training with Dave. Not only does he have a wealth of real world fight experience in and out of the ring, but he also possesses the ability to apply that knowledge to his students in a way that's easy to understand, learn and actually use.

Being a person that has been exposed to quite a few encounters outside of the ring, I was also interested in self defense techniques that might be more applicable for street situations. Dave was able to deliver on this request in ways I would have never imagined.

Dave was able to quickly provide real solutions to common situations I've had difficulty with in the past in a way that has my confidence skyrocketing. He even has an arsenal of Dave Carter Originals that you won't find being taught anywhere else. If you have experience with any form of fighting, you'll immediately think "Wow, this guy knows his s__t!" In fact, he's so in tune with the reality of fighting, he was able to anticipate many of my questions before I had a chance to ask them!

You don't get results like this when you train with someone who learned from a video and/or has never been in the scenarios they're attempting to teach.

Dave Carter is well known, across the country, as a leading trainer and expert MMA technician. Dave’s foundation is based in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ), Muay Thai, and Filipino knife and stick fighting and he has been developing his fighting skills since the age of 8.  He has worked and trained with Bruce Lee’s protégé Dan Inosanto, Special Forces Instructor, Pat Tray, and with world champion Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor and MMA Coach Lloyd Irvin. Additionally, Dave has won several National Titles in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Muay Thai while coaching others to do the same.
